According to the Petroleum Division sources, there has been progress on the matter of importing LNG to meet the gas shortage in winter. The last date has been extended till November 10. Earlier, bids were invited from international suppliers till November 6. According to Petroleum Division sources, the delivery of the first cargo has been scheduled from 14 to 16 December 2026. The delivery of the second LNG cargo is from 9 to 11 January 2027. The government had issued a tender for procurement of 2 spot cargoes of LNG on 4 November. According to sources, the tender was issued by Pakistan LNG Limited. The tender was issued for the supply of December 2026 and January 2027. The bids received under the tenders were to be opened today on November 6.
