ISLAMABAD – Saudi Arabia has appointed retired Major General Rajeh bin Tami Al-Baqmi as its new ambassador to Pakistan. Al-Baqmi took the oath of office before Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman on behalf of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz. Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan also attended the oath-taking ceremony. The newly appointed ambassador is expected to arrive in Pakistan soon to assume his diplomatic responsibilities. Rajeh bin Tami Al-Baqmi is regarded as an experienced Saudi diplomat and has previously held key diplomatic assignments in several countries, giving him extensive experience in international affairs. His appointment comes at a time when political, defense, economic and investment cooperation between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia continues to expand. High-level engagements and joint initiatives have further strengthened ties between the two countries.
